He emigrated to America about 1750. He and his brother Wolfgang were gunsmiths.

It is believed that George Schreyer (Shreyer or Shroyer) was trained by Nicholas Hachen or George
Ungefehr in or about 1755. It might be that he finished his apprenticeship with Wolfgang
Hachem as Nicholas died in 1758 at the age of 40.
